ABOUT
In 2000, the Norton Island Residency for Writers & Artists was founded as a nonprofit under the leadership of the Eastern Frontier Educational Foundation and developed to create an ideal place for writers to write, artists to paint and sculpt, and musicians to compose. In 2020, we celebrate our 21st summer and 41st & 42nd residency sessions. In 21 years, more than 500 artists and writers have used the Norton Island venue for their work.
The Norton Island Residency website was previously known and listed under the name of the Eastern Frontier Educational Foundation, or easternfrontier.com.
The Eastern Frontier Educational Foundation is the IRC section 501(c)(3) exempt private operating foundation that funds and maintains the Norton Island Residency Program for Writers and Artists. The Eastern Frontier Educational Foundation is organized and operates within the state of Maine and has received no direct or indirect government funding.
